If you are the kind who thinks twice before trying out a new watering hole tucked away in a somewhat far-flung location in the city, AFK is a gem of a find and worth the long drive. The spacious set-up is divided into two sections – a cosy indoor one with wooden furniture and pretty lamps and an upper level al fresco area for gigs and other events. The menu is funky and creative, with delish finger food options such as bacon bruschettas, fried prawn pops and paneer pesto bites. The specials segment offers diners the likes of Greek style fish kababs, a refreshing summer ‘breadless’ vegwich, and a cheesy spinach guacamole jumble. Also worth exploring are the sweet and salty ‘what the hey’ fries, the gluten free ‘monkey bread’ and the Australian lamb chops.
