The chill bistro vibe comes across in subtle flashes of folk art and a modern blackboard menu. The emphasis is on light, organic eating. You could start out with healthy Udipi fare (‘build your own’ idli or dosa with creative stuffings and spreads) or try the layered upma with veggies or deep-fried mini cocktail idlis. There is a section of healthy juices (bitter gourd, banana stem and lemon, ginger and carrot) and detoxing cleanses (also home-delivered). The organic hibiscus lemon soda is tasty, as is the inimitable ‘degree’ filter coffee (graduated from the Kumbakonam Degree College of Coffee, it seems). For those looking for a little more indulgence, there are several kinds of South-style rice, including tomato, lemon, curd and a clay-pot spiced veggie biryani. You could also get a Kerala parota, appam or soft neer dosa with their thoran, kurma, kootu, avial, stew, keerai masiyal, kachiya moru, Maharashtrian kalvan, Andhra potato roast and more. Do not forget to sample the pickles (lemon, gongura, mango, green chilli and tomato) with your meal, along with a heap of crunchy appalams. Desserts include a divine chocolate uniappam (Kerala-style banana dough filled with chocolate).
