The restaurant has been around for more than 2 decades and the success story is fantastic. The inspiration from the travels and experiences have forced the owners to put their heart and soul to make some stellar South East Asian food and it only gets better every season. The vibe of the place is really nice and airy, especially with that outside seating and the rather soothing shades of woody, maroons and blues. Start with ordering the 'Malaka Iced Tea' that comes with Lemon Juice, Lemongrass and Condensed milk is shaken to froth. The 'Top Hats', vegetarian and non-vegetarian are both great: they are essentially crumbly and buttery tart bases filled with stuff that is totally inspired from the streets of Vietnam and other Asian countries. The other small plates include few of the really fine 'Chicken Skewers' finished with galangal and lemongrass. If you like to start with soup or salads, they have ample of variety for that as well. The 'Raw Papaya Salad' is our personal pick from the rest and the 'Malaysian Laksa Soup' from the body warmers. The mains offer a delectable spread of all the Asian curries which are generally served well with 'Jasmine Rice' and some 'Udon Noodles' by the side. The 'Green and Red Thai Curry' is probably the best in the city and it is one of the most balanced ones. You might find it to be a little high on lemongrass but that is how it truly should be and not too high on coconut milk. You can choose from the sides for each curry, most of them come with options of Chicken, Prawns, Lamb or Veggies. The dessert menu is also quite inspired by the Asian territories: 'Jaggery Icecream', 'Tender Coconut Icecream served in the coconut with fruits on the side', 'Date and Coconut Roll' or the 'Japanese Chocolate Truffle': all of them are a must actually so choose wisely!
