There is a magical explosion of sights and smells reminiscent of the crowded streets of Mumbai as soon as you step foot inside. The interiors – featuring a giant painting of a flamboyantly dressed Amitabh Bachchan sprawled across a wall, ‘Mumbaiyya’ slang doodles, a shady paan shop, dangling local train handles above the tables, a station map on the ceiling, and lamps made out of lunch boxes – scream ‘amchi Mumbai’. The menu features typical Mumbai grub, be it the pav bhaji sandwich, dhokla pakoda, kheema ghotala or fries peppered with the aromatic khada masala and finished off with a dollop of ghee. Their signature cocktails also play their part in paying tributes to the city – the Ganne ka Caipiroska, for instance, is an alcoholic take on the beloved street thirst quencher, and the salty-spicy Iced Peru is guava juice and vodka drizzled with red chilli powder and salt.
