The original idea behind K&K (called Kebabs and Kurries, to indicate a willingness to forgo spelling in the pursuit of branding) was to create a brand that served the best of ITC’s two great Indian restaurants, Bukhara and Dum Pukht. Menus would be simple, full of pictures and reflective of the restaurant's laid-back ambience. This K&K outpost was the first to mark a break with that trend, and to offer an original menu with some dishes that were not on either the Bukhara or Dum Pukht menus. Its success made ITC rethink all the other K&Ks and to give the concept a unique feel. It still remains a relaxed North Indian restaurant with excellent food, but it is much more than a Greatest Hits compilation of Bukhara and Dum Pukht classics.
