This is a difficult restaurant to find since it has no door signage, but once you do, you won’t regret it. The Toddy Shop’s cosy, unpretentious interiors instantly put you at ease in the trendy and hectic scene that Hauz Khas Village is. The restaurant serves food from Kerala and takes this culinary mandate very seriously. The appams, a usually good barometer of authenticity of the cuisine, are excellent. But the standout dish is Kutty’s Fried Chicken - chicken morsels marinated in Mrs Kutty’s secret marinade. A must-try dish which will have you asking who and where Mrs Kutty is!

When you think of a south indian restaurant, a picture forms in your mind with old fashioned tables and steel utensils with tiled walls. The toddy shop at hauz khas village is anything but that. This low key and non advertised place is difficult to find but when you do, it will surprise the daylights out of you. Toddy’s is trendy and well decorated. Yellow painted walls and black & white landscapes caught on kerela’s beaches puts this restaurant on another level from other south indian joints. Furniture is light and comfy to invite you to linger for hours. The photographs on the wall are duly captured by a fabulous photographer who have managed to bring in the delights of kerela to delhi streets. The food is served in nice platters gracing on banana leaf.
