While the name might suggest it's a bar of sorts, take a step into this place and you realise it isn't a bar but actually a cafe. It's yellow and brick themed interiors with caned chairs gives it the casual relaxed ambiance it aims for. The decor which includes lots of fun quotes and trivia about beer makes it feel young and cheerful. While the focus really is on the beer (they have an extensive list featuring Indian brands as well as international ones) they also surprisingly have a large food menu including bar nibbles, sharing plates, pizza, pasta and full plated meals.
There is one thing that ties all the people of all caste and creed globally is their love for beer. This tall fermented drink is consumed like water in some countries. That is true love. Germany the godfather nation of beer would be proud to see our country joining ranks to prove our love too. The beer café on Viviana Mall, Majiwada, Mumbai, is our proof of admiration for this heavenly drink. The café as the name suggests is dedicated completely to feed their customers beer. And they come in hordes to be serviced. The interiors of café is cheerfully bright with sunshine walls and shiny table tops.
Draught beers are poured from the tap filling the glass till the rim with frothy goodness. Bottle beers both light and strong are available of domestic and international brands. Charger from Scottish cliffs, sol and corona from Mexican beaches, from islands of japan asahi, Estrella dam from mystic spain, sagres from Portugal, from Holland plains Amstel, erdinger weissbier by germans all the brands loved by you on your travels are now housed under one roof ‘The beer cafe’. Whisky drinkers need not feel left out for your daily dose of scotch is provided too. As is gin and beer/vodka/rum-based cocktails. For assigned drivers of the group you can accompany your friends over juice or erdinger which is non-alcoholic beer. Munches to give salty kick are easy to eat and light with the drinks. Corn bhel, honey chilli potato, dimsums, spring roll, French fries, kebabs and paneer tikkas creates a spread worthy of a king. The bites are small and proportioned so pick up and chew away.
Large gatherings are better suited for Beer Café cause of ample space and laid back attitude. The café even have a section on the menu shareables for this precise purpose. Large platters and combo meals are dished out if you don’t want to eat home cooked food. Taste wise the food is quite good but let’s admit the hero here is good old beer. The spotlight remains firmly on the Beer Café for making a tiny dream land for beer devotees. In fifteen hundred only you can drink beer to fill your heart. Viviana Mall has once again managed to earn our regards. Cheers!
