It is true that if you are looking for good North Indian chaats and snacks in Bangalore, you may have to do a little deep digging. There are not too many places that check all the boxes. But, Bhartiya Jalpan has managed to rise on the popularity charts. Let us start with their breakfast spread – top of the list is the 'Chola Bhatura' and the 'Matar Poori with Aloo Sabji'. If you want a ghee laden paratha-wala breakfast, then the 'Aloo-Pyaaz', 'Gobi' or 'Paneer'. Now jumping into the chaats – the classic 'Pani Puri' is a good one, then, of course, they have the 'Aloo Tikki', 'Samosa Chaat' and 'Kachori Chaat', all of which offer the options of pairing it with 'Dahi' or 'Matar'. If something more substantial and homely is what you are thinking of, then the 'Bhartiya Jalpan Shahi Thali' is what you need. Assurance is that a siesta is a must afterwards. They definitely know how to treat their paneer well here and in any form, it makes for a good choice here. The 'Soda Shikanji' is what you need come summer and the 'Kesar Badam Milk' will be ideal for the cold weather. Of course, for me, it is the 'Lassi', comes any weather.
