Touchdown seems to strike the sweet spot between the city’s sordid dive bars and pretentious gastropubs. This is an everyday watering hole without stag-entry rules or nightclub ambitions. Tacky upholstery mars the cosy barn-like space – they should have stuck to the bar memes. The small outdoor section is almost boxed out, which is ironic, considering that Touchdown is surrounded by the aptly named Green Meadows Resort. The drinks are light on the pocket and the cocktails colourfully saccharine. Safe bets are the boozy Irish Trash Can and the Syrian (Kerala-style) beef fry.
