Even as the festive season begins, new restaurants and eateries in Ahmedabad are ready to take the city by storm with their tasty offerings

As the festive months begin in earnest with Diwali just round the corner, Thanksgivings, Christmas and New year not far behind, restaurants are opening operations just in time for the real action to begin here in Ahmedabad where the summer months are way too hot for heavy meals. So, winters is the season when Amdavadis wait for really enjoying meals and eating out with friends and families, especially considering that winters in Ahmedabad are mild and really just the right temperature for enjoying food and festivities.

We showcase a mixture of different eateries for you, a couple of vegetarian restaurants, a couple of non-vegetarian places and a juice and dessert café. So have fun.

Crazy Crush, Prahlad Nagar

This is a juice and desserts café which serves the current Craze Bubbles Tea and Bubble Shakes. Located in the basement on Prahlad Nagar Road with a small outlet on the ground floor, this café is open from 11:00 am to 11.30 pm. It also has an innovative snack Volauvo which is bite-sized stuffed puff pastry circles with jalapeno and cheese toppings on it. This is a vegetarian cafe.

Oh Heaven, Sindhu Bhawan Road

This is an open air restaurant serving both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. They serve North Indian, Continental, Italian and Chinese cuisines. Check out this place which also has a closed air-conditioned cabin space for 30 persons in case of rain or summer heat. Ho Heaven has beautiful outdoor ambience with water fountains, trees, gazebos and tables set at a nice distance for privacy. It is open only for dinner.

The Secret Kitchen

This vegetarian restaurant is off Sindhu Bhavan Road in Times Square II building on the second floor. Open for lunch and dinner, this restaurant serves North Indian cuisine. The Secret Kitchen has beautiful ambience with colourful upholstered chairs and curtained gazebo-like enclosures inside.

The Riverfront Grill, Lemon Tree Premier Hotel

Located close to the Sabarmati Riverfront, this is a restaurant serving kebabs, grills, North Indian curries and Biryanis. It also serves Western and Oriental grilled dishes. This place is open only in the evenings. It is a great place to try Mughlai and North Indian food, especially the kebabs and biryanis.

85 Degrees C, Shyamal Crossing

This is a non-vegetarian café located in the Alliance Francaise building. It is open from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm and it serves sandwiches, croissants, panini, tacos, enchiladas, eggs and various types of hot and cold beverages. It has indoor and outdoor seating options.
