Dine at This Palatial Mansion In Pali Hill

One of Pali Naka’s hottest eateries, this contemporary haveli that is usually packed with people, gives you all the regal Rajasthani feels and a smattering Santorini while dining. The light-filled courtyard welcomes you in the day to this dreamy indoor/outdoor space, which, at night gravitates towards being a cosy and more intimate space, idyllic for those romantic dates. The monochrome dining area, gypsy courtyard, a silver room to a black and white bar lounge, the interiors showcase Shah’s minimal design aesthetic in a new vibrant avatar. The five different seating areas and artistic decor makes this place extremely Instagram-worthy as well.

Named after the family name of Suren Joshi this homely yet staycationesque restaurant operates on the concept of cutting of from the bustle of Bandra for a peaceful meal in a serene setting. The upper floor is particularly delightful with its artsy walls and playful swivel seats.

The walls are not the only artworks of interest here, the food to speaks artistic volumes in its own right. Their signature ‘Raw Bar’ boasts mouth-watering vegan delights like ‘Young Coconut Ceviche’ with a chilled Coconut dressing with Jalapenos and Green Apple Salsa; a much-needed refresher on a hot humid day. Other appetizers like the healthy ‘The Sweet Potato Shammi Chaat’ and street food-inspired favourite Kheema Kachori are also an absolute must-try.

Meaty mains like the ‘The Moroccan Chicken Skewers with creamy spiced Garlic Toum’, ‘Laal Maas Shanks’ paired with Mathania chilli naan and the umami and sweet ‘Teriyaki Glazed Salmon’ are sure shot winners on the menu. The vegetarian and vegan items are not to be overlooked either, ‘Truffle Asparagus & Edamame Ravioli’ with Asparagus mousse, lemon butter, ‘Jackfruit Nihari’ with butter naan and the spicy Mangalorean malasa ‘Mushroom & Chicken Ragout’ with Neer Dosa all bring forth a barrage of fusional flavour.

The dessert menu is well worth a cheat-day! Indian-inspired sweet treats like ‘The Pistachio, Saffron Rabri Cremeaux Ghevar’ and ‘The fresh Mango - Aam Ras Tres leches’ or ‘The rich Coffee and Coconut Caramel Custard’ will leave you wanting more!

Other recommendations: Truffle Fries, Ricotta Stuffed Portobello, Eggplant Tacos,Thai Crab Seekh and Hazelnut Mocha
