Sample an exemplary Peruvian spread with a contemporary twist

Known as the land of innovative F&B concepts, Dubai’s dining scene is always on the rise. Michelin-starred chefs, global cuisines, ultra-luxe settings, and creative menus adding to the city’s culinary prestige are a source of every gourmand’s delight. With so much going on for Dubai as a gastronomic hub, it takes a certain kind of 'Je ne sais quoi' for any dining destination to get the discerning foodies of the city really excited. And Coya, with its contemporary Peruvian spread, original menu, and excellent execution has managed to achieve exactly that in order to become the name on everyone’s lips.

Home to Incan heritage and passionate food culture, Coya’s food gives the original fusion food of Peru a modern spin, melding flavors from Japanese, Chinese and Spanish influences with ingredients found nowhere else in the world to craft a truly unique dining experience.

Latin American food is all the rage right now and capitalizing on the popularity of this food trend, Coya has quickly become one of the top stops in Dubai in recent years where foodies can explore all there is to the cuisine. Talking about food recommendations, here’s a lowdown on some of our favorite picks from their stellar menu.

The set lunch menu features plenty of options to please even the most discerning of palates, with two starters and one main included in the price – along with a healthy dose of edamame or Guacamole prepared in front of you.

Coming to their Ala carte menu, Lubina Clasica, is another culinary gem in the Ceviche section that combines Sea Bass with Red Onion, Sweet Potato, and Choclo (Peruvian corn).

From the small dishes selection- Baos con Res Wagyu featuring Wagyu short ribs and Mantou Bao (Chinese Steam buns) is an exemplary delicacy that showcases the essence of Coya by combining South American seasoning with Chinese influences. Their Patats Bravas featuring a melange of Crispy Potatoes, Spicy Tomatoes, and Huancaína Sauce is the perfect side dish that hits the right spot.

Moving on to the mains, the Arroz Nikkei is a delightful option from their ‘Iron Pot’ selection that combines Chilean Sea Bass with Rice, Lime, and Chilli that is sure to tantalize the taste buds. While the Papa Seca featuring Peruvian Dried Potatoes, Black Truffle, and Mushrooms are the perfect vegan and gluten-free option for those who prefer vegetarian food. They also offer a host of Peruvian-themed beverages and decadent desserts that you must try for a wholesome dining experience. Props to the Coya team for an exemplary spread and for also spending a healthy amount of time at each table, patiently explaining the menu to people who are unfamiliar with this kind of cuisine.
