There is nothing particularly local about the Hyderabad outlet of Hyper Local. The ample selection of street food from the streets of Old Delhi gives away the roots of this brand. That is not a bad thing though. Hyper Local’s street food game is strong. The 'Aloo Tikki Chaat' is a reason enough for me to keep going back. There are the odd missteps, such as the dense 'Dahi Bhalle', but there is plenty that it gets right. The presentation is top notch, but more importantly, it does not get in the way of the flavours and textures. Fusion is a much-maligned word, but dishes like 'Chholey Calzone' and 'Achari Dal Croquette' are sensible and delicious. The main course keeps things simple and safe. The major surprise here is the 'Martaban Ka Chicken' – a slow-cooked chicken in a piquant jalapeno gravy. The restaurant is envisioned as a multi-dimensional entertainment destination. In the coming weeks, it hopes to acquire the liquor license to operationalise the bar. Besides DJs and live performances, It will also offer a premium movie viewing experience accompanied by food and beverages in its five-screen multiplex.
