The poolside restaurant on the second floor of Vivanta by Taj, Begumpet has a nice ambience and is known for its grilled food from all over the world. You have the option of sitting at the poolside or go for comfortable seating inside the restaurant. The restaurant has a short menu, which also incorporates a separate section named “Lost Cuisines of Hyderabad”. This section has some uncommon dishes like 'Dum Ke Lauz' (minced meat patties served with some nice mint chutney), and 'Jouzi Halwa' (the vintage nutmeg flavoured milk pudding of Hyderabad). The Indian section of the grill has the Awadhi 'Shahi Gilawat ki Kabab' and 'Sunehri Jhinga' a barbecued prawn with a hint to lemongrass. Basil-flavoured 'Tulsi Paneer Tikka' is my pick from the vegetarian section. Choices of international grills are very limited. 'Minute Steak' with tenderloin and mushrooms and 'Cajun Spiced Cottage Cheese' are some of the interesting dishes in this section. Service is attentive. The restaurant is open only for dinner.
