The owners of Aaswad had set up the restaurant as a place where people could enjoy Marathi food in a pleasant and clean ambience. Over the years, they have delivered on this promise. Aaswad serves vegetarian Marathi Brahmin food. Poha, batata vada, kothimbir vadi and thali peeth are good introductions to Marathi snacks. Do try out the varan bhaat toop in the mains. This is a dal rice and ghee combination usually found in Marathi homes. Piyush and kokum sherbet are the local drinks to try.
