Ling's Pavilion in Colaba used to be a closely-guarded secret for its South Mumbai patrons, who have grown up on its food, and visiting Chinese folks who came here looking for home food when visiting Mumbai. Its popularity has spread in recent years thanks to food blogs and other social media. It is now run by the second generation, the brothers Baba and Nini Ling and their wives. The seating in this two-storeyed restaurant modelled on a Chinese village is a throwback to 90s kitsch. Must-orders here are the salt & pepper prawns, pork soup dim sums, special roast pork (only on weekends and public holidays), spare ribs in honey pepper sauce, salt & pepper crabs, stewed pork belly with bean curd & shitake, chilli garlic fish (basa, snapper, pomfret) , beef chilli, mixed meat fried rice and seafood pan-fried noodles.
