  • The 'mini Idlis tossed in ghee and gunpowder' are delicious. Also, a special mention for their 'Sambhar' which is really tasty and served with any 'Idli' order
  • You will find some fusion dishes like a 'Jalapeno and Cheese Dosa' or a 'Brocolli Vada' so do not expect complete authenticity but the food overall is very good

This restaurant is a far cry from the usual udipi joints that are frequented by folks looking for their Idli Dosa fix. Madras Diaries is a very pretty restaurant that feels like you are dining at someone's home in Chennai or Cochin. The walls are all coloured in earthy tones and the decor has subtle hints to remind you that it is a South Indian restaurant like bell-shaped lanterns and wooden doors that could be in a home anywhere down South. It is a more relaxed ambience and a great spot for a family meal out. There is no meat on the menu but lots of favourites from 'Idli', 'Dosa', 'Uthappam', 'Appam' and more.
