You would be hard-pressed to believe you were sitting inside one of the city’s most buzzing shopping arenas – the wood-slatted, knick-knack-festooned walls of the inner bar section (or high stool-peppered outer balcony) speak of instant comfort, even as nostalgia-inducing retro music swirls out of speakers. The establishment encourages ordering a ‘pub lunch’ (weekday chef’s specials with beer/sangria), or the Sunday special unlimited BBQ and beer meal, but the bar snacks will really blow your socks off. Their pulled pork ‘Cuban cigars’ (in phyllo pastry), Cajun sweet potato fries, rock shrimps in wasabi mayo and roasted pine nuts, shrimp popcorn (!), ‘World’s Best’ onion rings, guacamole-laden nachos, beer fondue with focaccia croutons are where it is all at. There are also excellent burger and sandwich options, competent pastas, and mains like savoury pies, lamb chops, fish and chips, beer can-roasted chicken, burritos, etc. Coupled with the pub’s mainstay of extensive booze, and regular events like sports screenings and karaoke nights, the vibe has you coming back for more.
