Agashiye serves traditional Gujarati cuisine and is a classy way to experience Gujarati cuisine at this heritage hotel which is right in the heart of the city. The restaurant is on the top floor of the hotel from which it derives its name Agashiye, ‘At the roof’. The restaurant has wooden furniture in designs which were prevalent 80-100 years ago. The food here is served in bell metal utensils –plates, small bowls, glasses and also serving bowls are of the same metal. When you enter, you can see shining large lamp stands and metal statues. The walls are adorned with colourful pictures as you go up the stairs. There is also a lift to go up on the second floor. In the restaurant, they take care of little details like putting a rose along with your napkins and helping you wash your hands with warm water with a brass cistern.The food is good. It is neither too spicy nor too oily. The Dal and the Kadhi are sweet but just a little bit, unlike most Gujarati restaurants. The restaurant has two rates for thalis - Rs 1095 and Rs 1495. It is the most expensive thali in town
