No prizes for guessing that Jassi De Paranthe serves a variety of paranthas in every kind of filling imaginable. The fillings are made of - Paneer, Aloo, Gobi, mixed vegetable, Muli, Mushrooms, garlic, onion, cheese, black gram, peas, tomatoes, red kidney beans and corn. You can also get combinations of various fillings. However, the restaurant is not all about paranthas only. It is a regular restaurant serving all North Indian cuisine from soup, starter and main course to dessert. Jassi De Paranthe has 4 different outlets. One at Vastrapur is a small restaurant and it is dimly lit which many people do not like but apart from that, the food here is highly appreciated and on weekends people flock to this place. Even on weekdays, it is difficult to get a table easily, here. All the paranthas are served with curd, white unsalted butter and pickle. The 'Paneer Parantha', 'Aloo Lehsun Parantha' and 'Gobi Parantha' are a must-haves here. They serve 'Khus Sharbat', 'Kokum Sharbat' and even 'Sauf Da Sharbat' which has a cooling effect. Since it is Punjabi restaurant, run by a Punjabi, there are naturally lots of paneer dishes, types of 'Lassi', 'Sarsonkhani', 'Chole' and 'Sarsan Da Saag' along with 'Makkai Di Roti'. The 'Vegetable Dum Biryani' is very tasty. It is cooked in a clay pot with the top covered with dough which is cut open right in front of you. This tastes lovely.
