Chettinad Kitchen is where the Erstwhile Isys, the all-day dining restaurant of Hotel President used to be. Frankly, am happy that restaurant has been done away with. I visited this place with absolutely no expectations and came back quite pleased. A full-fledged bar is the plus point, considering we have very few of those in Jayanagar. Start with the Nandu Melagu Rasam or the Crab soup which is slightly thick, heavy on the coriander and comes with a generous portion of fresh crab, in the shell added in. Flavourful, strong on the pepper and one to open sinuses. Next, do try the Chef’s special of the Chicken Leg Roast – a fiery red masala from boriya chillies. The Kozhi Varutha Curry, a simple Chicken coconut curry and idiyappam worked for the child at the table. The idiyappam also came in handy to mop up the masala from the Leg Roast. End the meal with the Jil Jil Jigarthanda, a classic Chettinad dessert.
