You know there are some restaurants that become your go-to for no-nonsense good food? Well, Mandi has the potential of being just that for the neighbourhood of JP Nagar. A vegetarian restaurant that does Indian and Indo-Chinese, this place tends to run to full houses. For starters, you can go in for the 'Corn Tikki', the 'Gobi 65' or the 'Veg Seekh Kebab' and be assured of having a good start to your meal. For the mains, the 'Dum Aloo' packs quite a punch and the 'Highway Sabzi Masala' – with its bhuna masala-cashew paste base makes for a good meal. The vegetables in the Sabzi masala retain their crunch and that for me is always a brownie point scorer. The place is rather famous for their buffet spreads for lunch or dinner, seeing as how they are always packed to the gills for it. But do make sure to make a booking and go in a bit early. The food tends to be a bit neglected towards the closing of the buffet.
