As you know Sector 26 is the high street of fine dining in Chandigarh with back to back restaurants lined up. So how does one place stand out? In Chandigarh, first impressions matter and in this regard Qizo does well to make a stylish impression. The black and gold-hued interiors, ornate chandeliers are classy and the ambience is indeed likeable. The floral floor tiles go well with the plush look of Qizo that offers multiple seating options. The bar is also well designed and stands out in the restaurant. Qizo is styled in such a way that it has you reaching for your phone to create an Instagram post. So does the menu match up? It does well to bring in a mix of popular favourites from across the globe. The selection of salads and soups might be familiar but it is a well-chosen mix. The north Indian favourites like ‘Nashiley Jheenge’ (prawns marinated with rum and ginger garlic paste and cooked in the tandoor), ‘Mahi Tikka’, ‘Gilafi Seekh Kebab’, ‘Paneer Methi Malai Tikka’ lead the way in the starters. Skipping Indian specials, we chose the tuna sandwich and even though the bread was a tad crumbly, we enjoyed the spread with a fries and a side of salad. The ‘Chicken Teriyaki’ we ordered came on a bed of sticky rice and was well done. The ‘Spaghetti Bolognaise’ was classic and came as a portion good for two. The menu offers many popular favourites and the service is sharp.
