There is indeed something for everyone at Boardwalk in Ramada Egmore. The restaurant stretches across a large open-air section with sanguine cabanas and live kitchens, a Hookah section and indoor covers. The rooftop looks onto the Cooum river and remains airy on humid Chennai evenings. I was quite happy with my Kabab Platter from Boardwalk's cuisine-spanning menu. The Kababs were charred without being dried out, although they needed an additional kick of flavour from the chutney. My biryani was lightly seasoned in the style of Kolkata Biryanis, and I was quite content with a solid Dal Tadka from the kitchen. The inventive dessert section is led by Gulab Jamun ‘Carpaccio’, basically thinly sliced Gulab Jamun topped with Rabri.
