While another meat-heavy restaurant opens in the city, we vegetarians find we seem to be running out of places to dine with our green specifications. It’s a shame that so many restaurants are paying attention into improving their non-vegetarian side of the menu but leaving the herbivore side is sadly left lacking. It’s because of this gap that we prefer dining at our favorite veggie establishment ‘Prive Restaurant’, where blessedly there is not a single dish of meat in sight. Prive Restaurant revels in quite a bit of popularity amongst the families and corporates. It’s a good spot for large gatherings, especially if you want to sit and enjoy your food in a rambunctious atmosphere. They keep baby seats as well, ask for one if you need it.
Out of two outlets in Chennai, one of Prive Restaurant branch is situated on Ormes Road, Kilpauk. To pamper the foodie in you, the restaurant offers an extensive multi-cuisine menu encompassing North Indian, South Indian, Mexican, Street Food and Continental. As they do not serve alcohol, make do with their selection of mocktails. As first course start digging into, cheese pav bhaji, dahi papdi chat, vegetable spring roll, tacos, harabhara stuffed mushroom, bruschetta, cheese malai paneer tikka, chilli pepper corn and quesadilla. Follow it up with mains like, mutter khumb masala, exotic vegetable & paneer in almond sauce, risotto three pepper, vegetables stroganoff, mushroom & paneer chilli basil sizzler, farmhouse pizza, fettuccine pesto Genovese, mysore masala dosa, misal pav fondue, au gratin, vegetable teriyaki and pahadi pudina paneer kalimirch.
Jains are especially happy with the menu. Round off the evening at Prive Restaurant with an assortment of scrumptious desserts. Pick up your spoon and dig into, American pancakes, rabari with kulfi, hot chocolate fudge, angoor basundi, kulfi falooda, gulab jamun, fruits florida and hot sizzling brownie with vanilla ice cream. If their a la carte menu overwhelms you, opt for the buffet. It will be much more economical and luxurious affair. A modern stylish façade of Prive Restaurant opens into a well-decorated dining room. The dark earthy shades used to define the space is contrasted beautifully with teal colored sofas. Interiors are classy and timelessly designed. It’s an affordable place so indulge freely and lavishly. Prive Restaurant has a private seating area as well. Call ahead to book a table as the restaurant gets really busy on weekends.
