Artusi is rated to be the best Italian restaurant in the city and is an indispensable part of the dining scene. Ever so classy this trattoria boasts of lavish interiors, expensive chandeliers and incredible lighting that gives the diner an escape from reality. The restaurant rightly holds the culture and traditions, of the Emilia Romagna region, making it the ultimate feasting spot. Oscar Balon, the genius behind this place, believes in promoting the food where he hails from, educating people that Italian food is not just limited to a pizza or pasta. The menu enfolds dishes that are a great representation of Oscar’s native land, and have been able to wow the general masses. Italians usually eat a first and second course; there is as such no concept of a third course, the second course is usually ended with a fromage plate or a decadent dessert, paired excellently well with a shot of espresso. The must-have dishes include the famous ‘Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe’, this is traditional handmade pasta, that is tossed in a simple sauce made from black pepper, butter and Parmigiano – Reggiano and the ‘ Tortellini in Brodo’, mini tortellini’s served in a delicious hot broth. The desserts at this place are absolutely fantastic, and one must-try the 'Artusi Panacotta', that is accompanied with 'Sweet Figs and Almonds' and the 'Home-Style Tiramisu', which on its own keeps you wanting for more. My go-to place for authentic Italian!
