The night we sayed @ the Fairfield Inn was cold and freezing rain. Wehen we checked in the room was COLD We called the desk and let them know our problem. Someone came up to check and found that the heating unit was working, but was not heating room to temp we wanted. We set it to 81 and was luckey to get up to 65 degrees.
I've stayed in this property before, but our most recent stay was awful. A large group arrived shortly after we did and spent the night partying it up--other guests confirmed we weren't the only ones affected. There was music, shouting, slamming doors, and when we arrived in the lobby at 4:00 a.m. for a shuttle to the airport, they were doing the same thing in the lobby. I addressed it directly with the desk clerk, but she seemed inadequately trained or prepared to handle them. She claimed she talked with them twice, but it obviously had no effect. I get it that a desk clerk cannot control the actions of others, but she needs some training to more effectively handle such a situation and respond to other customers.
We always stay at this hotel pre-flight. However, it has gone downhill since our last stay. First we were surprised by having to sign a form about not allowing extra guests in the room and to keep any noise down. I'm not sure if this is standard or because we were a few days away from new years eve. We got on the elevator to go to our room and on walks a lady with no shoes and a bikini on coming from the pool - weird. We were upgraded to a suite room, which is nice to have the extra space. The housekeeping is hit and miss and in our room it was a miss. There was even a dried of contact lens on the bathroom counter. As if the airport didn't create enough noise at this hotel, the heating/cooling system is horribly loud! It took over 3 minutes for hot water to come out of the shower. We went to the "breakfast" at 8:30am only to find empty trays of the hot items of eggs and sausage and the oatmeal was out. Someone wasn't keeping up on watching the breakfast area and replenishing food items. It was also evident from the Pringles and other snack wrappers on the floor of the breakfast room that it had not been cleaned prior to the night before. This was a disappointing stay.
I ended up here after missing my connection on a very cold December night. While it's not the most modern lodging everything is in good shape. The rooms are oversized with a small sitting area and a second TV. There's was a small desk suitable for a laptop. The bedding was adequate though hardly deluxe quality. The bedroom TV was large with plenty of channels. The bathroom was clean, well-lit and a spacious shower with adequate water pressure. The breakfast had plenty of offerings but everything seemed to come from a box. The service was friendly and helpful. Within walking distance are several restaurants with varying price points. The Shuttle is provided by an adjacent airport parking facility and runs every 30 mins. Good option and good price point.
We had a preflight stay here and enjoyed our stay. Check in and desk staff are very nice and helpful. The park and fly deal is pretty much the same price as parking at the airport for 8 days so it’s a no brainer if you need to overnight for an early flight. The hotel uses the Qwik park lot right next door which is easy and convenient. We chose to park at the hotel then move the car to Qwik park in the morning then the shuttle took us directly to the airport. But you can choose to park the night before and have the shuttle pick you up at the hotel at a designated time in the morning if that’s what suits you needs. The breakfast is included and has plenty of options include some hot breakfast items. The pool area is nice. The rooms are clean and somewhat modern. The beds are really comfy we got a great night sleep.
