This is the restaurant that popularised the elaborate court cooking of the Avadh court in Delhi. Dum Pukht is a style of slow cooking in which the dishes cook gently in steam (the Dum) but the menu goes beyond steam cooking. The restaurant has three classics: the minced meat kakori kabab that melts in your mouth, the famous biryani in a sealed pot that has been widely copied, and the delicate yellow Dal Qureshi with its garlic tang.
