A cosy five-table joint in Green Park market, this showcases the food of the eight North-Eastern states including Assam, though the chef and his owner wife are from Manipur. The food runs the gamut of exotica, from crispy potatoes and masoor dal to jadoh – a pork and chicken liver stew whose base is Manipuri black rice and herbs from the forests of the state. The cuisines defy description, being cooked without spices (except mirchi raja/bhut jolokia) or oil and most dishes use unfamiliar ingredients like dry yam leaves or smoked river fish.
