A must-try dining experience in Mumbai that needs to be on every foodie’s radar right now

Where does one find an evening full of the rarest ingredients, the most complex culinary techniques and a creative combination of flavors? In a luxurious fine-dine restaurant tucked away in the quaint lanes of Fort. Featured in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants, Ekaa has generated buzz for its newest Tasting Menu. Rightfully christened, “IMPRINT,” it’s sure to leave a lasting impact on you. This 13-course menu is packed with hidden heritage, celebrated cultures, and more.

Indulge in a walnut-infused cream served with a roasted cherry puree, laid on a bed of coconut water jell-O. True to its principle of only serving the freshest local ingredients, the puree keeps changing, depending on the produce of the season.

Experience a combination of cultures as this course presents the Chef’s take on Kimchi. It's a journey that takes you through layers of taste, from the refreshing crunch of cucumber to the richness of black stone crab. The infusion of kimchi water with apple peel juice is what sets this course apart.

For this menu, the chefs at Ekaa traveled to a local farm and handpicked raw blueberries that form the crux of “Tartare.” Opt for a brown butter-cured aubergine or a spice-cured duck tartare served with pickled pepper aioli and sour, raw blueberries.

Furthering its commitment to nostalgia, Ekaa’s tasting menu aptly hosts a course called, “Ghar,’ a comforting blend of spice-infused rice, grilled tindli, salted karvanda, and more; recreating our chefs’ idea of a hearty, Sunday meal.

As a surprise course, at the end of the meal, Ekaa presents one of the rarest ingredients in the country, the Indian Durian. Treat your tastebuds to the exotic flavor through a gelato made using custom-made Brie cheese. The Tasting Menu at Ekaa is available Tuesday-Sundays at 7:00 PM. Please make your reservations a minimum of 24 hours prior, since each course requires meticulous preparation. If you want to take this experience up a notch, you can also opt for their wine or cocktail-pairing options.
