With welcoming cloudy blue walls, a beautiful ceiling that breaks open the sky in patches, one cannot miss this dreamy little café and its elating aura. It is a must-visit. Café Mommy Joon is a one-of-a-kind Iranian Café, serving a rich Middle Eastern fare and is also equipped with a unique book collection, making it an ideal spot to unwind for anyone and everyone.


This idyllic spot for bookworms has displayed the personal collection of Nargis and Sunil Dutt. These are books they have collected over the years, either bought by them on their travels or picked up from local stores in Mumbai and around India. Given their fondness for books, a lot of the books from the collection have personalized notes at the beginning of the books, being gifts for the family. One can see the reflection of their life and interests in this historic collection.


This pristine collection from the 60s, 70s and 80s has a lot of the books on display that are now out of publication and many come under rare collectibles too! The idea behind this café was to make a rich collection like theirs accessible to everyone. They are open all day long and people can come to read their favorites with a nice cup of Irani Tea or choose from their coffee section.

Moreover, there is a vast selection of film magazines, guides on filmmaking and photography. There are books on Kurosawa, Frank Capra and Bergman. From writing to acting to production to editing this collection covers everything about films.


Besides film, there is a section dedicated to history and politics. Where you will find titles like A Short History Of The USSR, Mountbatten, Indira's India, Abdul Gaffar Khan, volumes of The Cultural Heritage of India. There are even compilations of Life and Time magazines from the 60s and 70s.
