Gurgaon’s brand new One Horizon Center is a foodie lover’s reverie that can send any ravenous belly into overdrive! Over the last decade, Gurgaon has really established their gastronomic competency – making it one of the most delightful cities to visit in India and it has to be said, you do not have to always fine-dine or spend a beautiful penny to find a decent morsel to eat in this just city.
The layout at the One Horizon Center consists of two moderately sized gorgeous looking buildings with lots of glass. In between (kind of the square) there is a lovely alfresco space surrounded by restaurants on both sides. This is not the place for endless rows of restaurants offering the same cuisine; they have gone for assortment rather than volume. From the delectableness that is ‘Whisky Samba’ with its absolutely palatable world and reformist menu, offering one of the finest raw bars in town, with equally decadent lasagnes and grills, all with a progressive twist by young and talented Chef Akshay Bhardwaj; to ‘Delhi Club House’, that offers a menu inspired by the clubs of colonial India and an ambience that is a take on the vibe of these clubs, you are pretty much sure-fire to be able to find some place here that will drive your appetite monster into overdrive.
Good old Kylin is back again with some rather delicious Asian options in a quaint and quirky ambience and is christened ‘Shophouse By Kylin’. The world is your oyster, well at the One Horizon Center is, at least! There is everything from a burger place, a grab and go outlet, Starbucks, Caffé Tonino to a place for amazing dosas. Litebite Food is also coming up with a Korean restaurant called, ‘Hahn’s Kitchen’ out here, which I have a feeling is one to watch out for as Amit Burman, one of the promoters, has a strong passion for Korean cuisine and has hired one of the best expat chefs in the business.
One of the key points of the One Horizon Center is that they specialise in some of the best restaurants that are not often found in ‘run-of-the-mill’ markets. If you find yourself in Gurgaon, One Horizon Center comes highly recommended. And if you are in a time crunch, you will get the spirit of cuisine culture in the capital, right out here!!
