Restaurant Spotlight: Amritssarri, One Stop Destination To Celebrate the Authentic Flavours Of Punjab In Ahmedabad
Indulge in a unique dining experience to enjoy the expected and unexpected ‘gems’ of Punjabi cuisine
28 Jun, 2023 by Vishal TewatiaIndia is a land of diversity and so is the food. Different states have their own specialities and every food is unique in its own ways. Such is the case with Gujarat’s most populous city, Ahmedabad. As we all know it is famous for its Gujarati cuisine, however little do we know that the city has a lot of great options for other cuisines as well. Recently, we came across one of the most beautiful restaurants in town, serving North Indian delicacies all the way from Punjab. Amritssarri, the place derives its name from the golden city, Amritsar. As we all know, the city is famous for its local street food and north Indian dishes, especially chole, kulchas and paneer, so this place is a tribute to the taste of Punjab.
Located in the Satellite area, they have enormous seating space and dim yellow lights that set up your mood right upon entering this elegant eatery. The floor is entirely made up of marble and wooden work is noticeable everywhere. You will also be surprised by finding tables of all sizes available here with a chandelier placed on corner tables. You can get seated either on comfy red and blue coloured sofas or on elegant chairs as the seating is quite comfortable. As the tables are placed near the windows, you get to witness some great city views. The service here is indeed quick and the staff is quite helpful as well. The restaurant operates for lunch and dinner hours only.
The food undoubtedly is amazing here as this place is considered one of the best places to have north Indian food in town. Their extensive menu features expected and unexpected gems of Punjab. And the place not only offers North Indian cuisine but has also specialized in serving lip-smacking Chinese and European dishes as well. Amritssari has become people’s favourite for relishing the best chaats as well. They have categories like soups, Amritssarri chaats, baked dishes, pasta, Indian, Chinese and other dishes as well. Since we have had kulchas and dal quite a few times in Amritsar, we decided to go for their langar wali dal and other kulcha combos. Surprisingly, their langar wali dal was better than the one served in the golden temple, no offence.
We ditched starters to have their chaats and we did not regret. The best chats were katori chaat, Bhalla papdi and aloo tikki chaat. If you are in the mood for Chinese, do go for their Mexican hotpot or burnt garlic noodles. This place is heaven for all paneer lovers since they have a vast variety of paneer main courses. A few of the other must-try dishes include paneer kadhai, malai kofta, masala chaap, subz kadhai and kaju curry, which tastes extremely delicious.
Also, try their unlimited Amritsari kulcha combos and pair them with their mocktails or other cold beverages. Our favourite pick out of all drinks is salted lassi, the best one that I had in recent times and it’s a well-known fact that Punjabi food is incomplete without devouring delicious lassi.
After a hearty meal, who can even skip the desserts here? Amritssari has a variety of mouth-watering sweet delights that are worth trying. Especially their ‘crispy honey noodles with ice cream of your choice’. Well, you might be amazed by knowing about this sweet dish, but it’s worth giving a shot. Do not miss their crispy ‘desi ghee di jalebi’ and ‘rabdi jalebi’.
Summarizing it here, the place is a delight for veg lovers serving rich food, and rich culture at a reasonable cost that you couldn't ask for anything more. A must-visit family place to enjoy your meals with warm surrounding and pretty interiors that enhances your dining experience. While visiting here, do not forget to pay your bill through EazyDiner’s app and enjoy 50% off on your entire bill.
