Ophelia serves Lip-Smacking Turkish Food & Creative Cocktails

All fancy sounding places always catch my attention, and so did the famous Ophelia – restaurant and bar in The Ashok, Chanakyapuri. This place serves delicious Turkish and European food.

For all those who are curious to know the mystery behind the name Ophelia, the answer to that is – Hamlet, an iconic Shakespeare’s play outlines a character named ‘Ophelia’ a young and beautiful woman who was deeply loved by the protagonist. In the story, she has a symbolic association with flowers, which is an inspiration for this restaurant.

More on the lines the interior of this place is classy with deep red walls, blue and floral upholstery, lamps on the table and dainty crockery.

Anyone visiting this place must begin their evening with some amazing cocktails, one of them being Lick Me First. This one is served with a slather of chocolate and nuts on the glass. The signature cocktail of this restaurant is The Hamlet that consists of generous amount of gin and elder flower syrup. Another Must-try cocktail is Hibiscus Chiquita, this is a tequila based one with a strong taste and charcoal coating on the glass.

Before you start feeling dizzy with the cocktails, it’s time to order some of the best dishes of this place such as Non-Veg Mezze Platter, Gigantic Wooden Platter – which consist of hummus, carrot, tartare, chickpeas with yogurt, and tahini. For all the meat eaters there are some delicious options on the menu such as Lamb Chops, Lamb Adana, Chicken Shish and Chicken cheese Adana.

After getting satisfied with the platters one should move to European side of the menu, which includes homemade pasta – Seafood Cappelletti. Now, it’s time to order the best dessert on the menu – Tiramisu and Baklava Sundae.

Ophelia is fresh addition to the city's restaurant family, it's got both the option of eating a quiet meal in a formal setting and lounging outside by the bar with music and drinks. Do check it out before winter comes to an end, so you can have the best experience this season.
