Located in Madinat Jumeirah, Folly is a relaxed yet sophisticated restaurant, serving up contemporary dishes & cocktails. Touted as one of Dubai’s most coveted dining venues, Folly by Nick & Scott is famous for its award-winning cuisine as well as its stunning views of the Madinat waterways. From lazy lunches to laidback sundowners and romantic starlit dinners, this restaurant is the preferred choice of many gourmands for almost every occasion.
Star chefs Nick Alvis and Scott Price opened up Folly as their latest venture after their success with Table 9 and Taste Kitchen. The pair learned their culinary art from famed television personality and Chef Gordon Ramsay, having worked for him for over 15 years.
An open kitchen, outdoor terraces, and intimate dining areas make this a versatile dining spot. While the interiors of the multistorey venue are quite spectacular, it’s the delicious food that truly steals the show.
Their European-leaning menus cater to both non-vegetarians and vegetarians alike. The food is driven by Nick and Scott’s experience and creativity, with a strong focus on flavor and a commitment to sourcing high-quality produce. Contemporary, ingredient-led dishes are executed with skill and finesse, and guests are also encouraged to create their own tasting menu for a truly personal dining experience.
Folly is known for its elaborate set menu that offers 5 courses of exquisite preparations and wine pairings on request. Their weekend Garden lunches include recipes that focus on the usage of fresh produce and a melange of quality ingredients to create complementing flavors and textures.
Zeroing on one thing from their menu is a difficult task but their Crispy Hens Egg, Pancetta & Maple Syrup is a cheeky classic that is definitely one of our favorites. Flame Grilled Rib Eye, Red Cabbage, Sesame & Green Salsa is another exceptional choice that you should try when here.
Mondays are reserved for Wine & Cheese tastings where you can enjoy 2 hours of unlimited wine and a selection of British cheese for AED 295 per couple.
Their delectable Lamb Saddle that comes with Whipped Pine Nuts & Salsa is simply divine and definitely tops our must-try list. And so does their Corned Rose Veal, Foie Gras & Gooseberry preparation that has a very melt-in-your-mouth texture to it.
Lobster Dumplings, Cabbage & Chili seems to be a crowd favorite dish and after trying it, we are glad to say that we totally understand why. We also dig their Cod Loin, Bulghur Wheat, Pomegranate & Chervil, as well as the Asparagus, Parmesan & Almond dish that literally tastes like spring on a plate.
Coming to the desserts, they have a separate menu dedicated to them. Our recommendations include Blood Orange & Vanilla Cheesecake, Lemon Meringue, and Rhubarb & Custard. If you are in the mood for something different you can also opt for sampling their selection of British cheeses with Pear, Date Chutney, & Oat Cakes, which is an entire experience in itself!
