When it is Summer in Kolkata and till such time, the king of fruit Mango ripens, it is the green Mangoes which are ruling the market. It is that time of the year when after a day's hard work, the quenching of thirst becomes almost mandatory and what better way to welcome the summers than having green mango based cocktails. Here are our recommendations for you.


Ozora the Sky Bar

The sprawling Skybar at Kasba has a well-stacked bar and, for the summers, they have multiple options of Green Mango based cocktails. There is Vodka Based Malda which adds up Kafir Lime, chat masala, tobasco with orange syrup and green mango syrup. The Mango Monsoon has potent tequila with a pinch of black salt and black pepper with mango syrup with sprite. Aamtini takes on the classic martini where normal Vodka gets added with absolute pepper, a pinch of cumin powder, chopped ginger and pineapple juice.


Manga from Monkey Bar

This is what the Dil Mangey More. It is a mixture of Vodka, Aam Panna, Sweet lime, cumin and Salt on a bed of ice cubes served in a porcelain Khullad look alike. One Sip with the slices of raw mango on the rim, there cannot be anything cooling in this Summer.


Rum Panna from The Gabbar's

Have you heard about the Goli Bottle or the Banta Bottle from Delhi, where a marble pops up inside the bottle when opened? Get another version of the same in Rum Panna under the Santa Banta series of Gabbar's. It is Rum with aam panna and, add some soda and some traditional spices.

This Vodka based drink added up with in-house lemon liqueur, sour mix is tangy and potent. The Mango Candies are a slice of childhood which need to be consumed in between the sips and enjoy the alternate flavours.

Want to add some spike, just ask for it. This is present in mocktails section but on request, they will gladly serve it for you. The burnt Mango pulp is made in-house. Green Mango baked in tandoor and the pulp is then mixed with Sriracha sauce, Thai tamarind, Kashmiri Mirch and the puree, is made. When served in Stone Lotus, the puree gets mixed with Soda.


Spicy Mango Delight from Pour House Kolkata

Move over to Pour House Kolkata, the gastropub at IT Hub - Salt Lake Sector V. They have a Spicy Mango Delight in the form of a combination of mango crush, aam panna, chaat masala, vodka, rock salt, mint leaves and lime juice. The glass is garnished with red chilli and mint leaves for an added kick.
