Top 6 Places in Chandigarh That Brew The Best Coffee
The city boasts of many cafes serving the perfect cup of coffee
01 Oct, 2018 by Jagmeeta Thind JoyIt can be the perfect kick-start to the day as well as just perking up you need when work assignments take longer than expected. Conversations with friends would be quite incomplete if it was not for a steaming cup of coffee on the side. And, what is summer if you do not sip on a chilled glass of Cold Coffee every evening? We all are fast emerging as people who love their coffee as much as their tea. So if you are looking for robust brews and some fine places to have your fill in the city, read on.
Backpackers Cafe, Sector 9, Chandigarh
The cafe, one of the oldest in the city, has over the years garnered a sizeable fan following for its food and service. But we have found their coffee – both hot and cold – consistently lip-smacking over the years too. The Cold Coffee complete with chocolate shavings has many a diner addicted. The portion size is also much better compared to other places.
The wafting aromas of Freshly Baked Cinnamon Buns are quite a draw here, especially when you have just caught a movie in Elante Mall. Housed right next to the movie theatre’s entrance, Cinnabon is our pick for late night Coffee and the perfect Cinnamon Rolls.
Petite Sweet, Sector 8, Chandigarh
The tiny cafe, a unit of the popular Monica’s bakery, might be cramped for space with limited seating. But their coffee, especially the Cappuccino, is definitely one of the best we have had. You will, of course, be tempted to pair it up with the lip-smacking Muffins, Tarts and Quiche also available here.
Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Sector 22 and Elante Mall
This cafe chain has 2 outlets in the city and both of them score for their perfect roasts. While the pricing is steep when compared to other cafes the quality of brews is top-notch. Looking for something new to try, opt for the Caramel Macchiato or Double Chocolate Latte.
The Big Bro, Sector 9, Panchkula
There are not many cafes in Panchkula that serve good coffee and some interesting bites alongside. The Big Bro gets our thumbs up for a warm and inviting ambience as well as some fine brews. Apart from the usual, they also offer Turkish Iced Coffee and a Thai Style Latte. The freshly baked goodies are worth ordering too.
Round the Clock, Hotel Mountview, Sector 10, Chandigarh
Do not we all love a place that allows you to mull over your coffee and conversations for as long as you would like. That is where this coffee shop, open 24 hours, wins us over. While the hot coffee is passable, it is the home-style Cold Coffee that is perhaps the best in the city.
