Known as a street shopper's paradise, Gariahat is also home to some really good eateries serving absolutely mouth-watering food. As a young college student, this busy South Kolkata neighbourhood used to be my go-to spot almost every weekend. Besides strolling through the shops, my main focus was exploring the food joints. Well, college ended years ago, but even now, every visit to Kolkata has to include a tour of Gariahat and its ever-evolving food landscape. Here’s a list of the 5 best restaurants in Gariahat that I recently visited - and absolutely loved.

Visited Klubb10 for a girls' outing during my last visit and was in awe of the space. If you’re looking for a rooftop option in Gariahat with a skyline view, Klubb10 is an easy pick. Besides its rooftop seating, it also features an eclectic indoor space. Coming to the menu, they offer an enticing multi-cuisine fare with some regional favourites as well - pair your food with a drink of your choice, and you’re sorted. It’s the combination of a plethora of options and an energetic ambience that makes this place one of the best restaurants in Kolkata.

If there’s one place in Gariahat I make it a point to visit whenever I’m in Kolkata, it has to be Yomari. With its Himalayan aesthetic absolutely on point, the place feels like a slice of the mountains in the middle of the city. And if you’re a fan of momo, then this is one spot you definitely can’t miss - try the iconic Kothey momo, perfectly steamed on one side and crisp on the other, that practically melts in your mouth. Their Thakali thalis are absolutely top-notch as well. This Himalayan outlet is definitely one of the best restaurants in Gariahat for those who crave authentic momos, comforting thukpas, and a cosy mountain-inspired vibe.
