As the name suggests, it is the restaurant with outdoor seating at Taj Krishna, Banjara Hills. The place is at the lobby level overlooking the lawn and just next to Encounters, the all-day dining restaurant. Alfresco is known for its Italian a-la-carte dishes which are available in the evening. During breakfast or lunch, it operates as an extension of Encounters, where you can enjoy your buffet in an open-air setup. The a-la-carte menu at Alfresco spreads over only two pages. The 'Cannelloni' here with prawns and pine nut salsa is popular with regular customers. A vegetarian favourite is the 'Gnocchi' with truffle oil and herbs. The 'Frutti De Marr' or 'Seafood Pizza' is also a special dish here. For desserts, it is a tossup between 'Tiramisu' and 'Chocolate Mud Pie'. I would have loved the menu to be a bit more elaborate benefitting the explorers of Italian food.
