That this South African chain of restaurants chose to open their doors in Kolkata (after 3 outlets in the NCR Region), before Mumbai or Bengaluru, had the city’s foodie brigade beaming with pride. The 110-seater, on the top floor of the Acropolis mall, with its playful interiors perked up with stunning hand-painted wall murals, quirky posters and frames, make for a fun setting for a leisurely meal. The spread is largely a mix of Afro-Portuguese and Mediterranean staples. The mainstay here is the flame grilled chicken smothered with their signature sauce made with peri peri chillies (you could choose the level of heat according to your liking). Or, try their signature burgers in red and black (dyed with natural ingredients) buns and chicken espatada and dangling skewers of grilled chicken. The menu also packs in a few fantastic shakes and desserts; the cheesecake is quite good.
