With tastefully done interiors, this small restaurant transports you to nostalgia-ridden North Kolkata and the famous chilekotha or attics of old houses. As you step into the restaurant, everything reminds you of that from the wooden windows, railing, Kolkata rooftop fresco on the wall, switch boxes from the yore and more. The food menu is too vast and one probably has to try a couple of times to truly do justice to the menu. There is a fusion section with some interesting dishes like 'Fish Sizzler' and 'Smoked Hilsa'. 'Smoked Hilsa' comes wrapped in saal and banana leaves and has a nice coat of mustard and coconut paste. There is a hint of smokiness but the pungency of the mustard takes over. 'Murgi Bata', 'Posto Bata', 'Pabnar Dim Malaikari', 'Thakumar Tel Koi', 'Mourala Macher Bati Chorchori' and many more interesting dishes make for a complete experience. . Have the 'Guava Chili Custard' only if you like the taste of ripe guavas.
