  • All the starters like dim chingri devil or beckti chingir melbandhan or the simple beckti fry, are superbly prepared and are a must-try. The kasundi that goes with all these dishes is just perfect
  • Although ilish is available round the year on the menu, I would suggest to go for the other fish varieties, which are in plenty and venture into ilish during season
  • The taste of the food across all their outlets is more or less same, while the kosha manghso, which is their signature dish, is prepared in the central kitchen

Kosha manghso is so ingrained in the veins of all Bengalis, that when Golbari, the famous kosha mangsho place shut down temporarily, some of the let down cooks were brought in to start this chain as a tribute to kosha mangsho. This outlet takes you to a zamindar bari in old Bengal and even though it is quite small, there is a nice cosy feeling about this place. The menu is very crisp and clear with not too many items creating confusion. Try their famous kosha mangsho with luchi or echor kalia with ghee bhaat or mochar ghonto or any of the dishes from a assortment of fish; the food essentially tastes quite good, not too rich and quite balanced in flavours.
