From mostly cafés in the area, Soul is a restaurant which means serious food business. The minute you step in, there is an overall sense of liveliness yet simplicity in everything. The décor is minimal with some wooden furniture, panelled walls, large coloured bulbs hanging from the ceiling and 2 large mirrors decorated with colourful lights to form the focal point in the ambience. The menu is mostly European and American classics and every dish has an epicurean taste. Drunken shrimps marinated in whiskey, Scottish eggs, essentially scotch eggs, mushrooms stuffed with pesto and cheese, chicken á la Kiev and shepherd’s pie are some of their specialties. The mushroom cappuccino may not have the necessary froth but is creamy and totally blissful. In desserts, go for the coveted chocolate cigar which will not leave you disappointed. Using ingredients of high quality and with restraint and balance, Soul is all set to give the usual continental dining places a run for their money.
