22 Camac Street has been one of the most happening addresses in the city for a couple of decades now (this is where some of the best pubs and nightclubs have been). And, The Factory Outlet (TFO for its fans) has picked just the right spot (we hear it is called The Factory Outlet because it serves the good stuff at half price). The décor is quirky with candy-colour upholstery, bright pink chandeliers off and cages built into alcoves for groups to sit in. Plus, the place is strewn with kitschy bits and bobs. The peppy music sets the mood for fun. The 70-cover restaurant serves a mix of European and Mediterranean. The kabab platters, the shish touk especially, which comes with an assortment of fantastic dips and mini pita roundels, are particularly good. Or, try their thin-crust pizza topped with grilled chicken, basil and spinach, sun-dried tomatoes and roasted peppers. This is one of the few places in town that serves banoffee pie; try it, unless you are too tempted by the Nutella and mascarpone cake.
