There was a fair bit of angst when Just Around the Corner, the Bandra hangout popular for its ‘pile as much as you can’ salads, was re-launched as EATC. The promoters tried to make it a more exclusive place. Sitting for hours at a stretch, the norm at JATC, was discouraged in the new avatar. The menu was changed, as was the décor (which become a stark white from the cheerful yellow) and the prices were hiked. With time the place changed from being a buzzy youth hang out to a slightly more premium, upper-class family deli. It has slowly built a new set of fans over time though old-timers say it’s no longer the same.
