About Little Italy, Juhu, Western Suburbs
There is something about Italian food that comforts your deepest soul. Forking up a bite of silky pasta coated in sauce and cheese is the sure shot way into heaven or take a bite out of the crisp wood-fired oven pizzas, topped with sauce and herbs, whichever way you choose to go, Italian food will be at your service. There are few places in Mumbai that have become synonymous to good Italian food, among which one name is heard frequently. For local foodies ‘Little Italy’ is a place they can rely on to give them scrumptious food each time. This very popular chain of Italian restaurants has many outlets all over Mumbai but the one in Juhu is our favourite. Housed at Hotel Atlantic on Juhu Tara Road is this charming family-style restaurant.
One great thing about Little Italy is that there is no meat in sight. Yes, you heard it right! Little Italy practices a vegetarian menu, bringing alive classic Italian fare but in vegetarian version. Besides wholesome Italian food you can also get Lebanese and Mexican dishes too on the menu. You might assume by the vegetarian clause that booze is off the menu but fret not, for you can enjoy your favourite slice of pizza or plate of pasta with your choice of drink. Foray into the first course with, bruschetta, arancini, peperoni arrosto, insalata de rucola, cheese fondue, crostini vesuvio, zuppa di cipolle and funghi trifolati. Second course entails, spinachio pinenut ravioli, moussaka, Bombay pizza, pasta burro e salvia, risotto 4 formaggi, tortellini del casale, pizza Pavarotti, pasta del barone, crespelle, quesadillas, lasagne alla napoletana and pizza zorba.
The entire menu at Little Italy is delightful and surprisingly vast, taking in the vegetarian element. No proper Italian meal is ever complete without some traditional Italian desserts. Pamper your taste buds with, mango cheese cake, ferero rocher mousse cake, tiramisu, cream caramel, chocolate bomb, pannacotta, choco pizza, churros and a mouth-watering variety of gelatos. The interiors at Little Italy are not at all stylish but rather resemble the classic dining rooms of 90’s. Furnishings are dark and formal with proper dining tables and sofas to seat the customers. It’s advised to ignore the décor and concentrate fully on the food, after all that’s what you’re there for. For just fifteen hundred bucks you can take along a friend and have a feast.
