  • Mocambo is named after the restaurant of the same name in Kolkata. Legend goes that one of the 3 original Parsi owners got the idea of taking the name after a meal in Kolkata's Mocambo in the 1960s when he went to the city to get married
  • The Parsi menu is not prominently displayed. You have to ask for it and is usually available only for weekday lunches
  • A lunch at Mocambo is best combined with a walk down the inner lanes of Fort which will transport you to another era

This one time Irani restaurant, once famous for its rogan josh, saw a major facelift a few years back. This two-storeyed place is now fully air-conditioned and bright coloured walls have replaced the earlier blue grey. They now have an extensive Continental menu including Chateaubriand steaks but also serve Parsi classics such as dhansak and salli boti. They also have a few Goan dishes such as tongue roast.
