Basho’s is an oasis of calm in the midst of the bustling urban sprawl. Usually buzzing in the evening, this place is best suited for a lazy lunch. Settle down in one of the little rustic huts that enclose dimly lit lamps hanging over cosy baithaks (lined with bright red pillows to snuggle up to) – as relaxing as it gets. Sip on a glass of ole King Cole (whiskey topped with pineapple and orange slices and mint leaves) or Irish Eyes (whiskey blended with some smooth crème de menthe and kahlúa) and feel the lilting melodies in the background nuzzle your ears. For mains, you can choose from a host of Indian and Continental delicacies – the chicken stroganoff, garlic mushrooms, kababs and meat gravies come highly recommended by regulars.
