The lake-top platform here lined with wooden railing is a long corridor of warm red upholstery, housing quiet seating amid a gentle breeze. The twinkling lights make it quite romantic in the evenings as well. The restaurant has a truly eclectic collection of delicious soups, right from the chicken, leek and thyme soup to the French onion bowlful, tamarind-laced murg Malabar shorba, prawns-onion-coriander soup, or brown garlic, spinach, chicken and noodle soup. If you are choosing to go the ‘Continental’ route, the chicken berber (herb-pepper-crusted and rum-butter-flambéed) is a good start, progressing to chilli corn macaroni, prawn Spanish paella or pollo scaloppini (chicken with spinach and parmesan in a wine-cream sauce served with pasta). Desi food lovers, the cheese paneer kaju seekh or paneer malai seekh kababs are creamy and indulgent, while the baby corn saag chilli would go well with a missi roti. For a truly sinful main course, the Moghlai murg musallam is a whole chicken stuffed with a pilaf; the mooli paratha also couples well with a kachhi mirch ka gosht. There is also a rustic option to order gavran (village-style) or Kolhapuri sukka mutton or chicken with thick and fresh bajra bhakris.
