Earthen Oven is one of the best restaurants for Kebabs, Biryanis and Mughlai cuisine. It is a much-awarded restaurant and it has maintained its consistency over a long period of time. This is a rooftop restaurant which has a beautiful view of Sabarmati riverside and the well-lit bridges on the river are visible from the top. The restaurant is done up in beige, brown and cream colours with wooden chairs and tables and a beige and cream canopy on the top covering the top. There are wide glass windows all around to ensure that the excellent view is visible from all the tables. The place has an open kitchen where they make kebabs in the tandoor. This restaurant has a live performance of soulful ghazals every night, barring Tuesdays, sung by a very accomplished singer who is from the Indore Gharana. The place is open on all evenings and also for lunch on Saturdays and Sundays but there is no live music during lunch hours. My recommendations for food here are: You can begin with 'Murgh Badam Shorba' or if a soup is not your thing, try the 'Kheema Samosas' as a starter. Vegetarian should order the 'Palak Aur Anjeer Ke Kebab' or the 'Mirch Ke Kebab'. There are many other vegetarian kebab choices. Earthen Oven is known for its kebabs. Try the 'Tandoori Jhinga' or the 'Tandoori Pomfret' if you are a seafood lover. The 'Barrah Kebabs' here are soft, juicy and spicy. Try them. If you want to taste a variety of Kebabs, order the 'Assorted Non-Vegetarian Platter'. For the main course, try the 'Paneer Khurchan' and pair it with 'Butter Naan' or 'Lachcha Parantha'. Non-vegetarian lovers should try the 'Murgh Makhani', 'Awadhi Nihari' or 'Barah Gosht'.
